The 2020 Event

The second Volunteering and Community Champions Awards was held on Tuesday 11th February 2020. 114 people and/or groups were recognised, more than double the number from the 2019 pilot. The event was jointly funded between the University, Hampshire County Council and Winchester Rotary and the categories were as follows:

Volunteering and Community Champion 2020 - Stephanie Higgins (third year BSc (Hons) Psychology and Child Development)
Awareness Raising Champion - Bethany Hocking (third year BA (Hons) Global History and Politics)
Creative Volunteering Champion - Carmen Dolores (second year BA (Hons) History)
Environmental Volunteering Champion - Steve Hallett (UoW Single-Use Plastic Engagement and Mapping Co-ordinator)
Hidden Gems Champion - Joe Boulay (first year BSc (Hons) Psychology)
Staff Change Agent Champion - Dr Bea Myers (Senior Lecturer in Law)
Staff Community Volunteering Champion - Dr Vicky Feldwick (University Music Centre Manager)
Student Change Agent Champion - Alice Jarvis (third year BA (Hons) History)
Student Community Volunteering Champion - Joshua Dodd (second year BA (Hons) Media and Communication)
Student Union Societies Champion - Sammy Ney (second year LLB (Hons) Law)
Student Union Sports Champion - Futsal
